Condolence From: Joan and Gord Miller
Condolence: Our memory of John is of a man who really loved the outdoors. This was particularly evident on a visit to the Sharbot Lake cottage one summer where he demonstrated his knowledge of wild mushrooms. When we asked how he could identify various species he would only say “because that's what it is!”. Probably his most productive and satisfying hobby was his working with wood and producing elaborate fretsaw items in the form of clocks, corner cabinets, delicate boxes, grand cathedrals etc. He presented these to many of his friends and family, which are now treasured as a lasting memory of him.
John's last years were very difficult for him and for the his immediate family but now he is at peace with his wife, Anna, having lived a good life.
