Obituary for Beverley Jean Quinton (Smith)

Beverley Jean Quinton (Smith)
QUINTON, Beverley Jean (nee SMITH) – With family by her side, at the age of 77, Beverley went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday April 16, 2015. Loving mother of Richard and his wife Leslie, Melanie (the late Les) Burton, Brent and his wife Andrea. Gramma will be forever cherished by her grandchildren Mitchell, Nicholas, Madeline, Kayla and Lane- all who meant the world to her. She will be truly missed by her sister Sharon and husband Dick Gray as well as her nephews Shawn (Johaniek) and Daryl (Maiko). Devoted daughter of the late Lennox and Thelma Smith. The Quinton family, too many to mention by name, were equally endeared by our mother. Mom was an exemplary Teacher with an Excellence Award from the Peel Board of Ontario to prove it. She was creatively gifted and encouraged her students likewise along with instilling her passion for reading in them. Ending her career in her dream job as librarian surrounded by books, she very easily transitioned into running the library at her home church of 29 years - Agincourt Pentecostal Church. Each year Mom eagerly anticipated spring so she could spend time with her second family, at her cottage at Lakeshore Pentecostal Camp. If she wasn’t spotted on her deck, she could be found at her adored cousin David (Heather) Smith’s house on Bagot Street in Cobourg, catching up on news about Alex, Kate and Laura and the rest of the extended Smith family. A family with a heritage she took great pride in. The funeral service will take place at the Church in the Village at Sheppard Village, 3758 Sheppard Avenue East in Scarborough on Monday April 20th, 2015 at 2:30p.m. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. till service time in the chapel. Family interment on Tuesday at Union Cemetery, Cobourg. In lieu of flowers, donations to Lakeshore Pentecostal Camp would be greatly appreciated by the family.
